My Outer Space Adventure
With Snoopy

Bill wrote this story for his English class on August 27, 1980. He was fourteen years old. The teacher wrote "good story" on his paper. The story shows the imagination of a young boy growing up. Read the story, it is real cute and has lots of adventure. Oh! and if the music annoys you while reading, just go to the bottom and click on the black box to turn the music off. Once when I was just a little boy, I had a dog whose name was Snoopy. We played and daydreamed alot. Once we were daydreaming about being astronauts in an adventure in outer space. We got into our space capsule and started off to the planet of the dogs, which had no name.

Our trip to the planet was somewhat rough. We came into contact with meteors and comets. When we had reached the planet, we shut the engines down and checked the air pressure outside. Then we stepped out to meet the King of the planet, Zuron, (which means butch in America). He introduced us to his Cabinet and House of dogs. Then the king told us about his planet, the chief products, the main countries, and the dog food factory. I told Snoopy, "This is your kind of planet". Snoopy just laughed with a serious look on his face.

When the king showed us to our quarters and left, Snoopy said, "Arf, Barf, Grrr",(which means, "I don't like him"). I said, "Snoopy, your just dreaming, he's all right". So we went to bed. When I woke up, Snoopy was gone. Then I realized I was the one gone. I was in a solid white room with no door I could see. Then I heard a voice that said, "My name is Zuron, the King of this planet. You are my prisoner until your dog can come up with 3 trillion Zitrats, (about $2.64 in American money), so live it up while you can because it's hard to earn money here". So I just sat there waiting, wanting my only friend on the planet, Snoopy.

Then I saw a window open and I looked out to see what looked like a boa constrictor. Then I saw Snoopy, who was carrying our suitcases and luggage. I could see our capsule from the window. Snoopy took all our things to it and came back with all our tools and a flute. He started playing the flute as the snake started to get drowsy and fell asleep. Then Snoopy took a drill and drilled the snakes eyes out as it woke up and started moving away from us. It couldn't see where to go so it just went straight. Mr. Zuron was running at Snoopy with a zigarbet, (a machine gun), then Mr. Zuron saw the boa constrictor coming right for him. He started running but the snake just followed him by his ears, as it could hear where Mr. Zuron was going but it didn't know who it was.

Snoopy drilled a hole in the wall, then he took a crowbar and broke the window. As I crawled through, I said, "Thank you Snoopy, for saving my life, and what's that hole for"? Snoopy said, "Barrrr, Arf, Grrrrr, Borrrr", (which means, "It's nothing, and the hole is for something you'll have to wait on", as he stuck a hook in the hole and lodged it there, as he tied a rope to the other end, as he ran to the capsule with the other end of the rope and tied it to the capsule. Then I grabbed the tools and ran to the ship. I threw the tools in and helped Snoopy in, then I climbed in as I said, "Fire the rocket boosters". As we got off the air, I looked down to see the rope tighten and the jail where I was fall apart. Then I saw Mr. Zuron still being chased by the boa constrictor.

Our flight home was smooth. We landed at Cape Cravel. When I told them what Snoopy had done, it made him famous. Then something kicked me and I woke up. It was my mom, as she said, "Quit daydreaming and do your homework". I knew then it was just a dream so Snoopy will have to go on with his mediocre life.
