Young Love
by Sue Ann

As the darkness settles, I think back over the years,
I think about the things we’ve share together,
All of the good times, the bad times,
The laugher and the tears,
And all of it reminds me of,
How much I wish you were here.
I remember when we first met, at school,
I watched you closely, but didn’t let you know,
I approached you sometimes, but lost my nerve,
Something inside, told me not to let my feelings show.
Then you talked to me, day by day,
Our love grew stronger and the trust more tight,
So when you left, I wish you could stay,
But I can’t hold you to tight, or you’ll get crushed.
So now I’m waiting for you to come back to me,
I’ll meet you with open arms, and bring you inside,
And we’ll laugh and cry and love once more,
And our paths, our dear God will guide.

I don’t know for sure, but I bet Sue Ann wrote this about Robert. That’s her husband. My husband, Skip and I, loved him the first day we met him. He is in the Coast Guard now. They have been married for years and have two children. Rayanna and Brandon are their names. They are a Christian family, Oh! I thank God for that!
