The Guys Next Door
by Linda

What’s more important in life than giving
And showing others life is really worth living,
What’s more important than an act of sharing
And, the reward one receives from abundantly caring
What’s more important than a warm, smiling face
Of a group of guys who keep such rapid pace,
And if you enjoy music that sounds like the latest
You should listen to them; they are definately the greatest
What can one say to such wonderful neighbors
When their life style constitutes extending great favors,
And what’s more important than the joy they bring
To the hearts of so many each time they sing
In brief, what I’m really trying to say
It’s been swell being your neighbor day-after-day,
I wish you much happiness as your future grows
Plus a world of success in accomplishing your goals.

This poem was written about a group of young men who lived next door to Linda. They were members of a band. I remember after she met them, she bought a drum. I don’t think she ever mastered playing the drums but she had lots of fun trying.
