The candle burns for my twin sister, Linda. She developed RSD from heart surgery. Like a lot of you I have read about, she hangs on day by day with the hope that someday a cure will be found or a treatment will be found to rid the pain. I have seen her in her worse pain and at the same time, I’ve seen her lift her hands to praise God. I have seen her immobilized with pain, yet I’ve seen her try to pretend the pain wasn’t there for my sake. She is always thinking of others instead of herself. She has a faith beyond words, and I can tell you now that if it was not for her faith in God, my twin sister would not be here today.
Sometimes, it is so hard for me because I know how she suffers, but through her suffering, she is the one that upholds me. She can teach us all a lesson about how to endure suffering and how God can give us hope regardless of our hardships. As for me, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, and more recently with another chronic illness called polyneuropathy. My heart goes out to all of you who suffer from RSD, Fibromyalgia, or any other chronic illness and pain. I want you to know that I understand your pain and each and every day, I say a special prayer for you. I care about you and I love you. God be with each and every one of you!
