A Friend

A friend in need, I am one,
Help me to mend my heart,
My best friend has gone away,
As she left I said, “Stay”.
Don’t look back at what you see,
All that’s left is only dreams,
Look ahead away from the storms,
Look to the sunshine to brighten the day,
“Won’t you Please stay?”
She just said, “I gotta go”,
But I felt so wrong down deep inside,
I just knew something was going on.
So I turned to her and said,
“Whatever I did, whatever I said,
Wasn’t so bad that you have to run away,
But she turned and left as I yelled out,
“Please Stay”.

I don’t know when this poem was written but it was when she was young and still in school. We all go through things with our friends. She must have really loved this friend a lot. I don’t know how things ended up between them. I hope okay!
